Limits and support
One image up to 10 MiB, 12 million pixels and 8192 px per side. WebP input requires browser decoding support; WebP output requires encoding support. Animation, SVG, HEIC and AVIF are not supported. Pixel dimensions are retained with orientation applied.
Questions
Does PNG keep transparency?
Yes. PNG and supported WebP output retain transparent pixels. JPEG cannot represent transparency, so transparent areas use a white background.
Can converting restore image quality?
No. Conversion cannot recover lost detail. JPEG and WebP quality settings control lossy encoding; PNG has no quality slider. Output can be larger than the input.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Decoding and encoding happen locally in your browser, without an account. Re-encoding may remove metadata and change color rendering.
